The Cinteric range is not a commercial skincare line built around marketing claims. It was developed to address the specific skin concerns I see most frequently in practice: acne, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, dandruff, and body dryness, in a climate that makes all of these harder to manage.
This guide walks through each product, explains the science behind it, and tells you who it's actually for.
Cinteric Gel: Anti Acne Gel (LKR 1,250)
For: Mild to moderate acne, active breakouts, blemish-prone skin
Cinteric Gel is a targeted spot treatment applied directly to active acne lesions or breakout-prone zones. The formula combines antibacterial and anti-inflammatory actives to reduce the size and redness of existing spots and prevent new ones from forming.
How to use: After cleansing, apply a small amount directly to affected areas. Avoid applying to the entire face; it's not a moisturiser. Use morning and evening. Always follow with sunscreen in the morning.
Note: Some patients experience mild dryness when first using this product. This usually settles within 2 weeks. If it persists, reduce to once daily.
Cinteric 90+ Sunscreen Gel (LKR 3,200)
For: Everyone in Sri Lanka, every day
This is the product I consider non-negotiable for any patient I see, regardless of what they're treating. Sri Lanka's UV index regularly reaches 10–12 (classified as extreme). Daily SPF 90+ protection prevents:
- New sun damage and hyperpigmentation
- Worsening of existing melasma
- Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (the dark marks acne leaves)
- Premature skin ageing
Cinteric 90+ is formulated as a lightweight gel rather than a cream, which makes it tolerable in humid conditions. It should not feel heavy or leave a white cast when applied correctly.
How to use: Apply generously to all exposed skin 20 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply every 2–3 hours outdoors. This is the last step in your morning routine.
Cinteric 4 Step Acne Face Cleanser (LKR 2,750)
For: Moderate to severe acne, very oily skin, skin not responding to single-product approaches
This is a multi-step cleansing system that addresses acne at several stages simultaneously. Unlike a single cleanser, the 4-step approach can remove surface impurities, target bacterial colonies, and restore skin balance in sequence.
I typically recommend this for patients who have tried standard cleansers without adequate control of their acne. The additional steps take more time but deliver more comprehensive cleansing.
Note: Not for sensitive or reactive skin, speak to me at consultation before starting this.
Cinteric 3% Anti-Dandruff Shampoo (LKR 640)
For: Mild to moderate dandruff, general scalp health maintenance
Dandruff in Sri Lanka is frequently driven by Malassezia overgrowth, a fungus that thrives in warm, humid conditions. Cinteric 3% uses an antifungal active at a concentration suited for regular use.
How to use: Apply to wet hair, massage into scalp for 2–3 minutes, leave for 3–5 minutes, then rinse. Use 2–3 times per week. Can be used alongside your regular shampoo on other days.
Cinteric 5% Anti-Dandruff Shampoo (LKR 780)
For: Persistent or severe dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis
The 5% formulation is for patients whose dandruff hasn't responded adequately to the 3% version or general anti-dandruff shampoos. The higher concentration provides more intensive scalp treatment.
I sometimes prescribe this as part of a hair loss protocol, scalp inflammation driven by dandruff can contribute to hair shedding, and addressing the underlying cause supports regrowth treatment.
How to use: 2 times per week initially. Reduce frequency as condition improves. Do not use daily.
Leonor Body Lotion (LKR 3,200)
For: Dry, rough skin on the body; daily moisturisation
A rich but non-greasy body moisturiser designed for daily use. Despite Colombo's humidity, many patients present with dry patches, particularly on the lower legs, elbows, and knees. This is often from the combination of air conditioning, hard water, and over-cleansing.
Leonor absorbs quickly and doesn't leave a residue, which makes it practical to use even in warm weather.
How to use: Apply to clean, dry skin after bathing. Daily use recommended.
Antiseptic Skin Rejuvenating Soap (LKR 1,300)
For: Oily, acne-prone skin; bacterial skin concerns; body odour
A medically-formulated antibacterial soap that combines cleansing with mild skin renewal. I recommend this for patients dealing with body acne (back, chest, shoulders) and those with high sebum production.
It can be used on the face and body. For sensitive or dry skin types, limit facial use to once daily.
